I built & designed MizuFlow because other similar platforms made me feel overwhelmed and anxious. I focused on the opposite— reducing cognitive overload through an intuitive user journey and displaced intentional design decisions. MizuFlow launched in July 2026, growing at a quick pace.

Research
I studied how people talk about money apps through forum threads, interviews, and app-store reviews. The complaints varied but they had the same theme.
Interviewer #1
Checking my bank account gives me so much anxiety.
Interviewer #2
So many buzzwords on these apps, I feel so overwhelmed.
Interviewer #3
I can never keep up with my notes or spreadsheets.
Interviewer #4
It feels like a report card I keep failing.
Interviewer #5
I only realize I subscribed to something when the charge hits.
Interviewer #6
Every payday I redo the same math in my notes app.
Me
What if checking your money felt like being in control instead?
People weren't asking for more features — they were asking for their tracking app to stop making them feel bad.
The problem
Manual tracking can take too much time and effort for those that have busy schedules, however, existing budgeting & tracking apps can feel overcrowded with buzzwords and irrelevant features. Redoing the same budget math by hand, every payday, in a notes app or a spreadsheet — MizuFlow does it the moment income lands.
Designed to make the user feel comfortable in viewing their finances in one platform.
Transactions
Transactions should be the easiest feature to analyze and filter through.

Reflections
I'm proud to say this was the first platform I've solo shipped— but it was no easy feat.
Building is 10% of the challenge
Understanding my audience through analytics to continue improving and iterating both my marketing efforts and features was a hard obstacle. I wanted an organic crowd to prove this was a solution to some folks.
Alive, not static
Haptic feedbacks, notifications, and motion design, and many more. Not only does UX focus on the user journey, but to make it feel alive and humane is just as important.
Just launch & keep on iterating
It's difficult to know if it's ready to ship, but it'll never be ready. To continue iterating and improving is how the user can feel heard. Since launch, I've shipped out 7 builds— new features, designs, concepts.
Upcoming improvements
The next stretch is less about new screens and more about depth.
Android releaseSo the app isn't iOS-only.
Couples/household accountsFor more than a party of one that wants to split together.
Other languagesKnocked down FR & ES and aim to release more.
